Event Accessibility

Skip the Small Talk events are generally wheelchair accessible, offer alcoholic and sober-friendly beverages for on-site sale, and provide food for a range of dietary restrictions. In the case of these features not being present/possible, we will include this information in the event description.

We are happy to offer live ASL upon request. Due to the use of one-on-one conversations during the event, we request at least five days' notice via email to info@skipthesmalltalk.com to make sure we are able to provide an ASL interpreter for each person who needs them.

We encourage guests to do what they need to in order to feel as comfortable as possible during the event, like taking breaks, eating, stretching, using fidget tools, leaving early, etc.

While we acknowledge that there is no such thing as a space that is perfectly accessible for everyone, we do what we can to welcome as many people as possible while prioritizing the needs of those who are systematically oppressed. If you have any accessibility needs that we might be able to help with or if money is a barrier to attending, please email us.

COVID-19 Policy Standards

As a standard, we strongly recommend vaccination against COVID-19 and the use of masks indoors whenever possible as to protect yourself and others. Since we are subject to the masking and vaccination norms of our venues, however, we generally are not able to require proof of vaccination or masking requirements for entry unless otherwise noted within the event description.

We also offer online events for those who cannot safely attend our in-person events.

We continue to monitor infection rates and local regulations, and we will keep both this page and our individual event pages updated as new requirements become necessary via government recommendations, requirements, or policies of the venue where the event is being held.

In order to ensure the health and safety of our guests, we ask that you not to attend an event if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness. We are happy to transfer your ticket to a future event as long as you give us a heads up before the event starts, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@skipthesmalltalk.com if you’re not feeling well the day of an event.
